Terms & Conditions

Effective August 31, 2026 · Provisional 1.0

Pending attorney review. These terms are provisional: they are published so members can read the rules the club actually operates by, and they are pending review by a North Carolina attorney. If anything here is unclear, or you believe a term is wrong, contact the club and we will resolve it directly.

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between Carolina International Table Tennis Academy ("CITTA," "the Club," "we," "us") and you, the person creating an account, purchasing a membership or service, or entering the facility ("you," "the buyer," "member").

Facility. 2172 N Salem Street, Ste 001, Apex, NC 27539

Contact. cittacademy2022@gmail.com · (919) 355-6870 · citt.academy

Hours. Every day, 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Hours may change on holidays and for scheduled programs; current hours are published at citt.academy.

By creating an account, purchasing any membership, lesson, package, class, camp, or league entry, or using the facility, you agree to these Terms. If you are purchasing on behalf of a minor, you agree on their behalf and as the responsible adult.

2. Your right to cancel — North Carolina notice

The following notice is required by N.C.G.S. § 66-119(4):

You the buyer, may cancel this contract at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of this contract.

To cancel, deliver or mail written notice to CITTA at the address in Section 1, or email cittacademy2022@gmail.com. If you mail your notice, it is effective on the date it is postmarked. Business days do not include Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, or any day the facility is closed.

If you cancel within that period, we will return all payments you have made, and any note or other evidence of indebtedness, within 30 days.

This right applies to every purchase where you pay before receiving the service — memberships, lesson packages, class packs, camps, league entries, and program registrations.

3. Additional cancellation and refund rights (N.C.G.S. § 66-120)

North Carolina law gives you the following rights in addition to the three-day right above. Nothing elsewhere in these Terms — including any product we describe as non-refundable — reduces them.

(a) Records. On written request, we will provide the personal information we hold about you within 30 days.

(b) Refund of 90% of the pro-rata unused cost of your contract if:

  • you die or become disabled such that you cannot receive the services (we may ask for reasonable proof);
  • you move more than eight miles from the facility and more than 30 miles from any comparable substitute facility we make available; or
  • we relocate more than eight miles, or materially impair the services we agreed to provide.

(c) Refund where your contracts exceed $1,500. If the total price of your contracts in force with us exceeds $1,500, you may request a refund of the pro-rata unused cost at any time. We will refund within 30 days of your request, less a cancellation fee of up to 25% of the unused amount, capped at $500.

Requests under this section go to cittacademy2022@gmail.com or the facility address in Section 1.

4. Contract duration

Every prepaid contract we sell states its duration as a precisely measured period, as N.C.G.S. § 66-119(2) requires:

  • Monthly memberships and monthly class enrollments have a term of one month, renewing automatically as described in Section 6.
  • Annual memberships have a term of one year, renewing automatically as described in Section 6.
  • Lesson-hour packages and class packs are valid for six months from the date of purchase (Section 8).
  • Camps, leagues, and program sessions run for the dates published for that program.

No contract, taken together with all other contracts in force between us, will have an aggregate duration of service longer than three years. Service under any contract begins within 180 days of purchase.

5. Financial security (N.C.G.S. § 66-124)

North Carolina law (N.C.G.S. § 66-124) requires sellers of prepaid entertainment contracts to maintain financial security — such as a surety bond filed with the North Carolina Attorney General — for the protection of buyers, and gives buyers a claim against that security if the facility closes or the seller becomes insolvent. For details of the Club's current filing, contact us at cittacademy2022@gmail.com.

6. Automatic renewal (N.C.G.S. § 75-41)

Monthly memberships and monthly class enrollments renew automatically each month, and annual memberships renew automatically each year, unless you cancel before the renewal date.

How to cancel. Cancel any time from your account at citt.academy → Account → Membership, or by emailing cittacademy2022@gmail.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term. We do not prorate a partial month or year, except where Section 3 applies.

Advance notice for annual plans. For any term that renews for more than 60 days — this includes all annual memberships — we will send you written notice by email at least 15 days and no more than 45 days before the renewal date, stating the renewal date and that the plan will renew unless you cancel first.

Changed terms. If the price or terms change on renewal, we will tell you in that notice, in bold type of at least 12 points.

7. Memberships

Membership plans, their prices, and what each includes are published at citt.academy and apply as of the date you purchase. Current plans include adult, minor / 60+, senior 60+ AM (weekdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. only), and family (2 to 4 players in one household), each available monthly or annually.

Payment method and price. Each plan is offered at two prices: a lower price when you pay by bank account (ACH direct debit), and a higher price when you pay by card. The bank price is our standard price and the card price reflects our additional cost of accepting cards. Your subscription is created at the price for the method you choose and is billed to that method.

No initiation or setup fee is charged on memberships.

Household memberships. A family membership covers the players listed on it, all of whom must live in one household. The adult who purchases it is responsible for payment and for the conduct of everyone on it.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will attempt to contact you and may retry the payment. If it remains unpaid, we may suspend membership benefits until it clears. Bank (ACH) payments can be returned days after they appear to succeed; if that happens, any benefit, credit, or seat that payment funded may be reversed.

8. Lesson-hour packages and class packs

What they are. A package is a prepaid quantity of coaching — measured in hours or in class sessions, never as a dollar balance. Packages are not gift cards, gift certificates, or stored-value instruments, and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Validity. Packages are valid for six months from the date of purchase. Hours or sessions not used within that period expire. The Club may, at its discretion and on request, extend an expired package once.

Tier. A package purchased for one coaching tier may be used only with coaches at that tier. Prices for each tier are published at citt.academy.

Household use. Package hours belong to the household that bought them and may be used by any player on that household's account.

If we cancel. If we cancel a lesson or class session that you funded with a package, we return the hours or sessions to your balance, and the returned amount carries a fresh six-month validity period from the date of return. You are never charged for a session we cancel.

Non-transferable. Packages may not be sold, transferred, or assigned to another household.

9. Private lessons

Booking is a request. When you book a lesson you are requesting that time. The coach confirms or declines it. The time is held for you while the request is pending, and your package hours are reserved at that moment. If the coach declines, the hours are returned in full.

Cancelling. You may withdraw a request the coach has not yet confirmed at any time, at no cost. Once a coach has confirmed, you may cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time; the hours return to your package. Inside that window, contact the club — the lesson may be rescheduled at the coach's discretion but is not automatically refunded.

No-shows. If you miss a confirmed lesson without telling us, the hour is forfeited. No additional fee is charged.

Coach substitution. We may substitute a coach of equivalent tier if your coach is unavailable. If you would rather not proceed with the substitute, tell us before the lesson and we will return the hours.

10. Group classes, camps, leagues, and programs

Each program publishes its own price, schedule, capacity, and cancellation terms at the time you register. The terms below apply in addition.

Group classes may be bought as a single-session drop-in, as a monthly enrollment that renews under Section 6, or as a prepaid pack under Section 8. Group class registrations are non-refundable once the cancellation window for that program has closed, and there are no make-up sessions for a class you miss — subject always to Section 3.

Minimum enrolment. Some classes require a minimum number of participants to run. If a session does not meet its minimum, we may cancel that session. If we do, you are refunded in full or your pack session is returned with a fresh validity period, and we will tell you by the deadline published for that class.

Camps may be cancelled by you up to 24 hours before the camp begins for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, camp fees are non-refundable, subject to Section 3.

Leagues and league nights are non-refundable once registration closes, subject to Section 3. League nights may require you to confirm attendance by a published deadline; an unconfirmed spot may be released to another player.

Waitlists. If a program is full you may join a waitlist. If a place opens we will offer it to you and hold it for a limited claim period, after which it passes to the next person.

Capacity holds. When you register for a paid program, your place is held while your payment completes. If payment is not completed within the hold period, the place is released.

11. Assumption of risk, waiver, and health

Table tennis is a physical activity. You accept the ordinary risks of participating, including injury from movement, contact with equipment, tables, floors, walls, other participants, and balls in play.

Every player must have a signed liability waiver on file before participating in any lesson, class, camp, league, or open play. A parent or legal guardian must sign for any player under 18. Waivers are signed and stored through your account at citt.academy. We may refuse participation to anyone without a current signed waiver.

You confirm that each player you register is in adequate health to participate, and you will tell us about any condition that affects their safe participation. We are not a medical provider and do not supply medical supervision.

12. Accounts, minors, and household access

Accounts. You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

Households. An adult account holder manages a household and the player profiles in it, and is responsible for payment and for the conduct of household members at the facility.

Players under 13 do not receive their own login. A parent or guardian manages their profile.

Players aged 13 to 17 may have their own login, under guardian controls set by the adult who manages the household. Certain actions by a teen account — including purchases — may require guardian approval.

Coach notes. Coaches keep training notes on their students. A note is visible to the coach who wrote it and to club administrators; a coach may choose to share a note with the player it is about.

Deleting your account. You may delete your account at any time from citt.academy → Account → Delete account, or by emailing cittacademy2022@gmail.com. If you manage a household that still contains other adults or other player profiles, or you have an active membership subscription, we will ask you to resolve those first — deleting your login must not silently end other people's access or leave a live billing relationship. Deletion removes your login and sign-in methods and anonymizes the personal details on your account. We retain what the law requires or permits us to retain: transaction and payment records, signed waivers, and safety records. Remaining package hours and passes lapse when the account closes; nothing in this paragraph limits your rights under Section 3.

13. Facility rules and conduct

  • Follow posted rules and staff instructions at all times.
  • Indoor court shoes with non-marking soles are required on the playing floor.
  • Table and court time may be reserved through your account; scheduled programs and lessons take priority over open play.
  • Treat coaches, staff, members, and guests with respect. Harassment, threatening behavior, and abusive language are not tolerated.
  • We may refuse entry, end a session, suspend, or terminate a membership for conduct that endangers or seriously disrupts others. Where we terminate for conduct, we refund the pro-rata unused portion of any prepaid amount unless the conduct caused loss or damage we are entitled to recover.
  • Personal property is your responsibility; we are not liable for loss or theft of belongings at the facility.
  • Outside coaching for a fee is not permitted at the facility without our written consent.

14. Photography and media

We photograph and film at the club for coaching, tournament records, and promotion. By participating you agree that we may use your likeness, and that of players in your household, in club materials and on club channels, without payment. Tell us in writing at cittacademy2022@gmail.com if you do not want a player's likeness used and we will honor that going forward.

15. Payments and taxes

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card or bank details. You authorize us to charge the payment method you select for the amounts and on the schedule shown at purchase, including recurring amounts under Section 6.

Club services — memberships, lessons, classes, camps, packages, and league entries — are not subject to North Carolina sales tax, and no sales tax is added at checkout. Retail merchandise, if we sell any, is taxed as required by law.

Prices may change. A change to a recurring price takes effect at your next renewal and is disclosed to you under Section 6.

16. Ratings and third-party data

We may display USATT ratings and related competitive results for players who have them. That data comes from USA Table Tennis, not from us; we mirror it and it may be out of date or incorrect. We are not responsible for its accuracy and cannot change it. Corrections go to USATT.

17. Communications

We send transactional messages about your account — receipts, booking confirmations, program changes, renewal notices, waitlist offers, and league reminders. These are part of the service and are not marketing.

Marketing messages, if we send any, are separate and you may unsubscribe at any time.

18. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent North Carolina law allows, and except for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct, CITTA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to these Terms or your use of the facility is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under N.C.G.S. Ch. 66, Art. 21, or any other right that cannot be waived by agreement.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and it will apply from your next renewal or your next purchase, whichever comes first. Changes never apply retroactively to a prepaid contract already in force.

The current version and its effective date are always posted at citt.academy/terms.

20. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any action must be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Wake County, North Carolina, and you and we consent to that venue.

Before filing anything, please contact us at cittacademy2022@gmail.com — most issues are resolved directly and quickly.

21. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the waiver you sign and the terms published for each program you buy, are the entire agreement between us on their subject.

Come play your
first point with us.

Drop in any day, 10:00am to 9:30pm — the $10 day pass is self-serve: pay online or at the door, show your door card, and members skip it entirely. No partner needed: a coach will get you onto a table. Bring shoes; we'll handle the rest.
